Syriac Orthodox Patriarch lays foundation stone for new monastery in Nyköping, Sweden
NYKÖPING, Sweden — On Monday morning, Syriac Orthodox Patriarch Mor Ignatius Aphrem II laid the foundation stone for the Cross Monastery in Nyköping, Sweden. The laying of the foundation stone comes several years after the Church purchased the property on which the new monastery is to be built.
The ceremony drew a considerable gathering of archbishops, priests, monks, and devoted believers.
