Syriac Youth Union in Lebanon hosts Christmas celebration for children
BEIRUT — As the Christmas and New Year festivities unfold, the Syriac Youth Union of the Universal Syriac Union Party (USUP) in Lebanon orchestrated a heartwarming celebration for the children of the Syriac (Aramean–Assyrian–Chaldean) community. The event took place at the Al-Jadida Municipal Theater in Sad al-Baouchriye, Beirut.
The celebration featured a delightful array of theatrical and humorous performances inspired by the spirit of Christmas, complemented by joyous dances, songs, and the distribution of gifts to the enthusiastic children in attendance.
Families and members of the USUP and Syriac Youth Union joined the festive gathering, which also witnessed the presence of USUP President Ibrahim Mrad. Taking to Facebook, Mrad expressed the belief that the culture of life will inevitably triumph over the culture of death and ignorance, emphasizing the inherent nature of the Syriac (Aramean–Assyrian–Chaldean) people as children of love and life.
In the preceding weeks, the Syriac Youth Union conducted several awareness sessions tailored for Syriac (Aramean–Assyrian–Chaldean) women. Additionally, the organization extended support to those in need by distributing medicines, particularly to diabetic patients, amidst the challenging political and economic crises that Lebanon is currently navigating.
