18 displaced Christian families returned to Mosul, Iraq

MOSUL, Iraq —Eighteen displaced Christian families returned to their areas in Mosul in Iraq, coinciding with Christmas.

Nineveh Governor Abdulkader al-Dakhil stated to Bas News that the displaced Christian families returned to Mosul, and they had been displaced since the beginning of the Islamic State control on Mosul.

“The families returned from Erbil in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq (KRI). The families entered Mosul under high security procedures, and they were received by Christian clergy in Mosul,” Al-Dakhil added.

Several churches were re-opened in Mosul. Their bells rang, marking the return of Christianity to this ancient city.
