General Directorate of Syriac Studies “Rejoice with Me” team hosts educational celebration for Christmas and New Year in Baghdad

BAGHDAD — The “Rejoice with Me” team, under the umbrella of the General Directorate of Syriac Studies, organized a festive celebration marking Christmas and the New Year at the Syriac Shana Kindergarten in Baghdad. The event unfolded on Tuesday morning, 9 January 2024, and was graced by the presence of notable figures, including Mr. Imad Salem Jajo, the General Director of Syriac Studies, Mrs. Sharara Youssef, Director of the Curriculum and Techniques Department, and Mr. Sinar Mazen, Director of the Syriac Study Department for Rusafa Education. The occasion also saw the participation of kindergarten supervisors, Mrs. Elena Morris, the kindergarten director, the dedicated educational staff, and the enthusiastic kindergarten children.

Mr. Imad Jajo, in his address during the celebration, emphasized the significance of such events in enhancing the educational experience for children. He underscored that these activities contribute not only to academic improvement but also play a crucial role in fostering awareness and instilling strong health foundations in the younger generation.

The “Rejoice with Me” team, consisting of skilled Syriac study professionals, including Uday Zuhair, the head of the Christian Education Division, Mr. Jean Ghazi, and Mrs. Roaa Kamel, orchestrated an engaging celebration. The program featured theatrical scenes and activities designed to spotlight the importance of combating bullying, promoting love among children, and imparting essential rules for the youngsters. The event successfully blended educational, pedagogical, and entertaining elements to create a memorable experience for the kindergarten attendees.
