Assyrian Church of the East extends heartfelt invitation to Syriac Catholic Patriarch for week of prayer unity
BEIRUT — A delegation from the Assyrian Church of the East in Lebanon formally invited Syriac Catholic Patriarch Mar Ignatius Joseph III Younan to join in prayer on the upcoming Sunday. The occasion marks the commencement of the Week of Prayer for the Unity of the Churches.
Patriarch Younan warmly welcomed the delegation from the Assyrian Church of the East at the Syriac Catholic Patriarchal Headquarters in Beirut. The delegation, comprising Father George Youhanna and Father Younan Dawod, conveyed their heartfelt congratulations to Patriarch Younan for Christmas and the New Year. They expressed their sincere wishes for a year filled with goodness and blessings.
During the meeting, Fathers Youhanna and Dawod extended wishes for the Patriarch’s health and a long life. They conveyed fraternal greetings with love from Mar Awa III, Patriarch of the Assyrian Church of the East, and from Bishop Meles Zaya, the bishop of the Diocese of Lebanon, Australia, and New Zealand.
Fathers Youhanna and Dawod formally presented the official invitation to Patriarch Younan. The invitation cordially invited him to participate in the official prayer ceremony marking the commencement of the Week of Prayer for the Unity of Churches. This special event is scheduled to take place in the Diocese of Lebanon for the Assyrian Church of the East on Sunday, 21 January.
