Chaldean–Syriac–Assyrian Archbishops unite in grief, offer condolences after Iranian missile attack on Erbil, Kurdistan Region of Iraq
ERBIL, Kurdistan Region of Iraq — In a show of unity and compassion, archbishops representing the Churches of the Chaldean–Syriac–Assyrian community in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq (KRI) extended their heartfelt condolences and profound sorrow to the people of the KRI in the wake of the devastating missile attack on Monday night.
In a joint statement, Syriac Orthodox Archbishop of Mosul and Kerkeslokh (Kirkuk) Mor Nicodemus Daoud Matta Sharaf, Syriac Catholic Archbishop of Hadyab Mar Nathanael Nizar Semaan, and Chaldean Archbishop of Erbil Bashar Matti Warda expressed complete solidarity with the people of Erbil as they mourn the loss of innocent lives, including Chaldean–Syriac–Assyrian businessman Karam Mikhail.
The archbishops offered their prayers and condolences to the families of the victims, emphasizing their unwavering support for the governmental efforts in both the KRI and Baghdad to ensure the security of the homeland and its citizens.
In addition to praying for peace and the swift recovery of the injured, the archbishops called on everyone to stand together in solidarity, preventing any further loss of innocent lives during these challenging times.
