Pakistan-Iran border tensions escalate as Pakistan conducts retaliatory airstrikes following Iran missile attack that killed civilians in Balochistan

TEHRAN / ISLAMABAD — Tensions along the Pakistan-Iran border intensified as Pakistan conducted retaliatory airstrikes inside Iran following an Iranian missile attack inside Pakistan that left several civilians, including children, dead.

The Pakistani Ministry of Foreign Affairs asserted that their military actions targeted what they labeled as “terrorist” sites within Iran.

Iranian television, however, reported that Pakistan launched missile attacks on an Iranian border village, resulting in the tragic deaths of three women and four children.

Confirming its military engagement, the Pakistani Ministry of Foreign Affairs disclosed that a series of strikes had been carried out against alleged terrorist sites in the Iranian province of Sistan-Baluchestan. The operation claimed the lives of several individuals identified as terrorists.
