Beth Nahrain Organization for Women engages in peace conference and empowers women through handicraft courses in Kurdistan Region of Iraq

ERBIL, Kurdistan Region of Iraq — Amidst its dynamic engagement in various initiatives across the Kurdistan Region of Iraq (KRI), the Beith Nahrain Organization for Women (BNOW) participated in a conference focused on peace and communal harmony, alongside concluding two empowering handicraft courses.

Responding to invitations from the Elite Forum for Peace and Development and the Ambassadors of Peace Without Borders Forum, BNOW President Hanan Matta Touma and Deputy Ronak Elias Hanna represented the BNOW at the conference.

The three-day conference featured a comprehensive training workshop on peacebuilding and community cohesion, drawing participation from local organizations, activists, and esteemed international scholars.

The BNOW also continued its commitment to women’s empowerment by organizing a special celebration marking the conclusion of two handicraft courses, benefitting a total of 40 women.

During the event, course trainer and BNOW member Iqbal Elias al-Toun showcased the fruits of the participants’ labor, underscoring the creativity and skill nurtured through the courses. Certificates of participation and tokens of appreciation were bestowed upon the participants by Ronak Elias Hanna, further acknowledging their dedication and achievements.
