Syrian Democratic Council condemns Turkish drone attack on war wounded center in Zalin (Qamishli), North and East Syria, urges international action

ZALIN, North and East Syria — The Syrian Democratic Council (SDC) denounced the recent Turkish airstrike targeting a center for war wounded in Zalin (Qamishli), North and East Syria, calling upon the US-led International Coalition to adopt a firm stance against Turkey’s aggression.

The SDC emphasized that Turkey’s assault on the war wounded center epitomizes its destructive policy in Syria, underscoring Ankara’s unwavering support for extremist groups like the Islamic State (ISIS) in their relentless campaign against the region’s diverse components.

The statement issued by the SDC unequivocally condemned Turkey’s aggression and crimes against an institution symbolizing resilience and sacrifice in the Syrian collective consciousness. The center targeted in the Turkish airstrike played a pivotal role in caring for those wounded in the fight against ISIS.

In a direct appeal to the international community, including the United Nations, the European Union, and the League of Arab States, the SDC called for immediate action to hold Turkey accountable for its violations of international law and its aggression on Syrian soil.

Additionally, the SDC urged all democratic national forces in Syria to unite in rejecting Turkish occupation and combating its relentless aggression. The council reiterated its call for national dialogue to address the Syrian crisis and eliminate foreign occupation and interference.
