Lebanese Forces Head Samir Geagea: Hezbollah’s border operations expose Lebanon and Lebanese people to destruction and death
MAARAB — After meeting Russian Ambassador to Lebanon, Alexander Rudakov, Head of the Lebanese Forces Samir Geagea stressed the need to implement the UN Resolution No. 1701 to avoid the risk of a major war in Lebanon’s southern borders, adding that Hezbollah’s border operations expose Lebanon and Lebanese people to destruction and death.
Regarding the Shab’a farms and Kafr Shuba hills, Geagea stated that it would be more useful to send a joint Lebanese-Syrian memorandum to the UN in order to consider them Lebanese territory, and then Israel will withdraw in accordance with UN Resolution No. 425.
Geagea reiterated that war on Gaza is absolutely unacceptable, and the only solution lies in the establishment of an independent Palestinian state.
He wondered about Hezbollah attacks on the Lebanon’s southern borders, pointing out that they will not help the Palestinians. Rather, they will bring harm to Lebanese southern villages and towns.
Since the war on the Gaza Strip, the Lebanese-Israeli border has witnessed mutual shelling between the pro-Iranian Hezbollah and the Israeli Army, resulting in hundreds of victims and mass displacement from villages and towns on both sides of the border.
