Suroyo TV hosts seminar on Syriac history book in Vienna

VIENNA — Suroyo TV recently organized a seminar discussing a German-language book on the history of the Syriac (Aramean–Assyrian–Chaldean) people. The event took place in the Hall of Mor Aphrem Church in Vienna, Austria.

Representatives from three churches were invited to participate in the seminar, including Mor Butros and Bulos (Peter and Paul) Church, Mor Aphrem Church, and Mary Virgin Church, as well as the local church councils.

The seminar was moderated by Yacoub Mirza, a member of the Media Committee of the Bethnahrain National Council (Mawtbo Umthoyo D’Bethnahrin, MUB), and Ishtar Gabriel, an MUB official in Europe. They discussed the significance of the book and its contents.

Originally written in Turkish and Arabic, the book has recently been translated into German and is scheduled for publication in English. The speakers highlighted key themes from the book, focusing on the unity of the Syriac (Aramean–Assyrian–Chaldean) people and the importance of publishing such works.

Following the presentations, attendees were given the opportunity to engage in a discussion, during which they expressed their gratitude to the preparatory committee.

Suroyo TV expressed its appreciation to the church institutions for hosting the event and providing the opportunity to convene the seminar.
