Syriac women’s forces hold dialogue session on women’s rights and empowerment in Dayrik, North and East Syria

DAYRIK, North and East Syria — In celebration of International Women’s Day on 8 March, the Syriac Security Forces (Sutoro) Women and the Beth Nahrin Women’s Protection Force (Ḥaylawotho d’Sutoro d’Neshe d’Beth Nahrin, HSNB) organized a dialogue session in Dayrik (Derki / Malikiyah), North and East Syria, on Monday aimed at promoting women’s awareness, self-defense, and the preservation of their rights in society.

The session was attended by representatives from security and military institutions, as well as representatives from institutions of the Democratic Autonomous Administration in the Region of North and East Syria (DAARNES).

Discussions during the session focused on strategies to empower women in society and safeguard the gains made in the region over previous years, while also addressing the challenges posed by patriarchal attitudes.

Participants also explored ways to overcome obstacles to women’s development in North and East Syria and highlighted the achievements of women in society.

The event was secured by the forces of the Sutoro and Sutoro Women.
