Syriac youth Yohannes Romolos Hanna secures victory in Super Cup Kickboxing Championship
GERMANY — Yohannes Romolos Hanna, a young Syriac athlete, emerged as the champion of the 60 kg weight category in the Super Cup Kickboxing Championship, clinching a resounding victory over his Italian opponent in a thrilling three-round bout.
This triumph marks another milestone for the determined Syriac talent, as Yohannes Hanna successfully defends his European Championship title, previously claimed in Wiesbaden, Germany. Additionally, he secured victory in the German Championship held in Darmstadt, Germany.
Yohannes harbors aspirations of achieving further success on the global stage by aiming for the prestigious World Kickboxing Championship.
Born to Syriac parents, Dr. Romolos Hanna and Seham Hanna, Yohannes hails from the town of Qabre Hewore (Qahtaniayh), North and East Syria.
His lineage includes his grandfather, Deacon Issa Muallem, a pioneering figure in teaching the Syriac language in Gozarto (Jazira) Canton, reflecting a family deeply rooted in knowledge and tradition.
