Bethnahrin Women’s Union plans vibrant celebrations for International Women’s Day
BRUSSELS — Ahead of International Women’s Day on 8 March, the Bethnahrin Women’s Union (Huyodo d’Neshe d’Bethnahrin, HNB) announced a series of activities across Europe, underscoring the day’s significance as a beacon of women’s rights advocacy.
The HNB extended warm wishes to women worldwide and unveiled its plans for various gatherings, including a memorial ceremony at the Church of the Virgin Mary in Gütersloh, Germany, on 9 March. Attendees can anticipate an evening filled with cultural performances by Syriac artist Sarkoun Sharo, alongside engaging competitions and prizes.
Additionally, celebrations will unfold in Switzerland, featuring the talents of artists Okin Tadars and Hannibal George at the Centro Eventi Hall.
In Turkey, the Syriac Women’s Club will host a special event at the Akito Hotel in Midyat, offering free admission to all women of the community.
Furthermore, the HNB will facilitate a thought-provoking symposium at the Suroyo building in Sweden, delving into the significance of International Women’s Day and highlighting the enduring struggle of Syriac (Aramean–Assyrian–Chaldean) women.
