Bethnahrin National Council in Sweden honors Sutoro martyrs, vows unwavering resolve in face of ongoing Turkish attacks

SÖDERTÄLJE, Sweden — In Södertälje, Sweden, the institutions of the Bethnahrin National Council (Mawtbo Umthoyo D’Bethnahrin, MUB) paid tribute to the three martyrs of the Syriac Security Forces (Sutoro) martyred in a Turkish drone strike, in a solemn commemoration held at the Beth Nahrin Cultural Center in the city’s Suroyo Building. Amidst heartfelt reflections, attendees reaffirmed their unwavering commitment to their cause despite adversities.

The memorial event commenced with a poignant minute of silence, honoring the memory of the fallen Sutoro martyrs: Jamil Hanna, Charbel Naim Saliba, and Muzaffar Muhammad.

Joseph Lahdou, representing the Democratic Autonomous Administration of the Region of North and East Syria (DAARNES) in Sweden, delivered a stirring address condemning the Turkish assaults on the peoples of North and East Syria. He shed light on the atrocities perpetrated by the Turkish occupation state and its collaborators, emphasizing the ongoing struggle for security and stability in the region.

In a moving tribute, poet George Chamoun recited evocative verses honoring the martyrs and their enduring legacy of resilience.

Matin Rahwi underscored the imperative of elevating the status of martyrs who have valiantly resisted oppression for generations. He emphasized that despite centuries of persecution, their indomitable spirit and unwavering determination continue to inspire a global struggle for justice and freedom.
