Syria least safe country in Middle East, 5th least safe globally

DARAMSUQ — In the latest Global Terrorism Index published by the Institute for Economics and Peace, Syria is the least safe country in the Middle East and 5th least safe country globally.

According to the report, deaths resulting from terrorism worldwide rose by 22% last year, reaching their highest level since 2017.

The report also highlights further destabilization in the Middle East due to the ongoing war between Israel and Hamas.

The devastating war, coupled with the rapid emergence of the Islamic State (ISIS), along with bombings, kidnappings, and murders, underscores that Syria remains dangerous and unsafe.
