HENGELO, The Netherlands — Continuing their outreach efforts, the delegation of the Syrian Democratic Council (SDC), led by Co-Chair Mahmoud al-Meslat, is conducting visits across Europe, hosting symposiums to introduce the work of the SDC.
Recently, the SDC organized a symposium at the Beth Nahrin Cultural Center in Hengelo, The Netherlands.
The event saw the participation of representatives from various Syriac (Aramean–Assyrian–Chaldean) political parties and organizations, including the Assyrian Democratic Organization (ADO) and Member of the Socialist Party Fares al-Khoury. Also present were SDC Representative Rezkar Qasim, representatives from Kurdish organizations and institutions, and Yusuf Boyuk Kahraman, the representative of the European Syriac Union (ESU) in the Netherlands.
Kahraman inaugurated the symposium by discussing the Syriac (Aramean–Assyrian–Chaldean) people’s role in establishing the Democratic Autonomous Administration of the Region of North and East Syria (DAARNES) and delved into the political relations between the Syriac (Aramean–Assyrian–Chaldean) people and political parties in North and East Syria, as well as the current challenges facing the region’s peoples.
He addressed the ongoing political situation in Syria, including the role of opposition forces in the region.
