Tayy Arab Tribe Council established in Gozarto (Jazira) Canton, North and East Syria
GOZARTO CANTON, North and East Syria — The 11 Arab clans of the Tayy tribe announced the formation of a general council for the Tayy tribe in the Gozarto (Jazira) Canton, North and East Syria.
Danho Elias is also involved in the Council on behalf of the Syriac (Aramean–Assyrian–Chaldean) ethnic component.
The 11 clans of the Tayy tribe are distributed throughout Syria and Iraq, but are particularly concentrated in Gozarto Canton.
The formation of the Council comes as a result of a meeting held in Zalin (Qamishli), in the presence of notables and sheikhs of Arab and Kurdish clans, as well as political and cultural figures in the Gozarto Canton.
Sheikh Hassan Farhan al-Taie of the Assaf clan was elected as head of the Council.
The clans of the Tayy tribe stressed that the formation of the Council came after long discussions among the clans, who reached a unified vision.
Their primary focus is to collaborate to ensure the security and stability of North and East Syria, address internal tribal issues, foster the establishment of a pluralistic civil society, promote solidarity, and cultivate a culture of acceptance. Additionally, they aim to build balanced relations with all other tribes.
The Council has explicitly stated its commitment to address the demands and needs of the Tayy tribe.
