Syriac Women’s Union hosts dialogue session on women’s role in North and East Syria
ZALIN, North and East Syria — In Zalin (Qamishli), North and East Syria, the Syriac Women’s Union (SWU) collaborated with the Women’s Committee of the Syriac Union Party (SUP) to organize a dialogue session titled “Syriac Woman is the Hope of Tomorrow.” The session focused on the active participation of women in various fields amidst the current political and social landscape.
The discussions covered the significant roles of Syriac (Aramean–Assyrian–Chaldean) women in political engagement, national struggle, governmental work, and institutions of the Democratic Autonomous Administration of the Region of North and East Syria. The session also addressed the vital contribution of women to the media landscape.
A short documentary showcasing the accomplishments of women was screened during the session, followed by an interactive exchange of ideas among the participants. The attendees concluded the event by proposing recommendations aimed at further enhancing the involvement of Syriac (Aramean–Assyrian–Chaldean) women across all sectors.
