Delegation from Caritas Slovakia visits Syriac Cross projects in North and East Syria
NORTH AND EAST SYRIA — In their ongoing efforts to assess and support projects implemented by the Syriac Cross Organization for Relief and Development, a delegation from Caritas Slovakia, comprising Maurice Gaggi, Director of the Middle East Project, and Janek Costa, responsible for Public Relations at Caritas Slovakia, visited various initiatives in Hasakah and Zalin (Qamishli) in North and East Syria.
During their visit, the delegation toured the Family Center and Zalka Kindergarten in Zalin, as well as the Women’s Training Center in Hasakah, gaining insights into the diverse activities and impact of the Syriac Cross projects in the region.
Since 2017, Caritas Slovakia has been a steadfast supporter of numerous projects, including emergency aid efforts in Hasakah, Latakia, and Holeb (Aleppo). These initiatives have been particularly crucial following the devastating earthquake that struck several areas of Turkey and Syria on 6 February last year, causing widespread damage and displacement.
With a focused approach on education and empowerment, especially for children and women, Caritas Slovakia continues to play a pivotal role as a donor to Syriac Cross, furthering their joint commitment to alleviate suffering and foster sustainable development in North and East Syria.
