Universal Syriac Union Party visits Syriac Orthodox Archdiocese in Lebanon
BEIRUT — For further participation in the anniversary of the Sayfo Genocide, a delegation from the Universal Syriac Union Party (USUP) in Lebanon visited the Syriac Orthodox Archbishop in Mount Lebanon Mor Chrysostomos Mikhael Shamoun, at the Archdiocese headquarters in Baouchriyé.
The visiting delegation consisted of USUP President Ibrahim Mrad and USUP officials Leila Latte and Joseph Hajjar.
Mrad invited the archbishop to participate in the 20 April event about commemorating the 9th centenary of the genocide committed by the Ottoman Empire against the Syriac (Aramean–Assyrian–Chaldean), Armenian, and Greek peoples.
The archbishop, in turn, thanked the USUP official for inviting him, wishing them continued success for the good of Lebanon and the party.
