Syriac Orthodox Archbishop of Sweden and Scandinavia Mor Youhanon Lahdo visits Dayrik, North and East Syria
DAYRIK, Syria — Syriac Orthodox Archbishop of Sweden and Scandinavia Mor Youhanon Lahdo visited his hometown, Dayrik (Derik / Malikiyah) in North and East Syria.
The archbishop was received by large crowds of Dayrik residents and representatives of the Syriac Union Party (SUP) in Syria, Derik Branch, amid the Scout musical performances.
Then archbishop headed to the Virgin Mary Church and presided over the Divine Liturgy, assisted by priests from different denominations in the city.
The reception, procession and Divine Liturgy were secured by the Syriac Security Forces (Sutoro) and Sutoro Women of North and East Syria.
