2024 Conference of Bethnahrin Women’s Union concluded in Baghdede in Iraq
BAGHDEDE, Iraq — The conference of the Bethnahrin Women’s Union (Huyodo d’Neshe d’Bethnahrin, HNB) began with a minute of silence for souls of the martyrs, followed by a congratulatory telegram by President of the Bethnahrain National Council (Mawtbo Umthoyo D’Bethnahrin, MUB) Comrade Naim Michael Hadodo.
After that, Shmuni Arsan, the MUB Women’s Affairs Official delivered a speech, in which she stated that Baghdede was chosen to host the HNB conference, to highlight the strong will of the Chaldean-Syriac-Assyrians women in Baghdede, especially after the tragedy of the wedding hall fire.
Arsan also spoke about the struggle of women throughout history, especially the struggle of Chaldean- Syriac-Assyrian women after the establishment of MUB which worked to develop and unite women without discrimination, in all arenas and branches.
After the speeches, the annual works reports and plans of the HNB branches were read.
Then, new members of the HNB Council and the Administrative Body were elected, in addition to welcoming new HNB members in various HNB branches.
