Calls for restoring the road to Mor Bosus Monastery in Beth Zabday in Turkey

BETH ZABDAY, Turkey —  Syriac (Aramean–Chaldean–Assyrian) people in diaspora usually visit the villages of Tur Abdin, Turkey, in summer to participate in the commemoration events of saints.

The Mayor of Beth Zabday (Azakh / İdil) issued a letter calling on the Turkish government to pay better attention to needs of Syriac (Aramean–Chaldean–Assyrian) villages, including the restoration of the road that connects the village of Hidl (Kayı) and the Mor Bosus Monastery.

On 11 May, Syriac people flocked to the restored Mor Bosus Monastery. The road leading to the Monastery, as well as nearby sites of archaeological significances, is greatly damaged and in need of repair.
