Yezidis mass grave found in Nineveh Governorate, Iraq

NINEVEH, Iraq —  The repercussions of the Yezidis Genocides committed by the Islamic State (ISIS) are still found in Iraq.

Recently, a mass grave for Yezidi victims was found by the Petrichor human rights organization in Shigur (Şingal / Sinjar) in Nineveh Governorate in northern Iraq.

The Petrichor organization stated that it found a new mass grave in the Jazira Complex of the Siba Sheikhdari village, noting that it belongs to Yezidi victims who were lost during the Genocide which afflicted them by ISIS in 2014.

The organization declared that it learned about the mass grave after roads restoration workers report.

The organization informed the concerned authorities to take the necessary measures.

In August, 2014, ISIS took control of Shigur (Şingal / Sinjar) district, committed genocides against the Yezidis, as well as kidnapped more than 5000 Yezidi women and children, the fate of hundreds of them is still unknown.
