Patriarch Mar Awa III Royel receives delegation from German OJCOS Foundation

ERBIL, Kurdistan Region of Iraq — Patriarch of the Assyrian Church of the East Mar Awa III Royel recently hosted a delegation from Germany led by Mr. David Mueller, Spokesperson for Religious Freedom in Iraq at the German OJCOS Foundation at the Patriarchal Headquarters in Erbil, Kurdistan Region of Iraq (KRI).

During the meeting, discussions covered multifaceted issues pertinent to religious freedom, particularly exploring the manifold challenges confronting Christians in the Middle East. Among the pressing concerns discussed were themes of emigration, economic stability, and security apprehensions, reflecting the complex realities faced by communities in the region.

In addition to addressing contemporary challenges, the delegation gained insights into the enduring relationships maintained by the Assyrian Church of the East with other denominations, underscoring the importance of interfaith dialogue and cooperation in fostering unity amidst diversity.
