Syrian Democratic Council endorses unity documents, calls for inclusive dialogue
NORTH AND EAST SYRIA — In a recent statement, the Syrian Democratic Council (SDC) embraced the “Three Regions Document” and the “National Action Gathering Document”, underscoring the imperative of Syrian unity and inclusive dialogue to forge a lasting political resolution to over a decade of conflict.
Introduced by activists and scholars from Suwayda, Druco (Daraa), and Holeb (Aleppo) on 9 March, the Three Regions Document outlines five fundamental tracks aimed at fostering national unity and consensus.
The SDC emphasized that these initiatives serve to consolidate Syrian efforts, foster consensus on objectives, and harmonize actions among political factions. These efforts aim to realize the Syrian people’s aspirations for dignity, freedom, and democracy, underscoring the significance of unity, dialogue, and equal citizenship.
Moreover, the SDC reiterated the necessity of unifying Syrians through inclusive dialogue to achieve a political settlement in line with international resolutions. The Council expressed openness to the National Action Gathering Document, advocating for sustained coordination and dialogue across Syrian regions.
Initiated by individuals from the Syrian coast, the National Action Gathering seeks to unite Syrians from the region, both within and beyond the country’s borders. Their collaboration aims to pave the way for the establishment of a cohesive national Syrian political landscape.
