Syriac Maronite Patriarch Mor Bechara Boutros al-Rai and Assyrian Church of the East Patriarch Mar Awa III Royel confer on regional challenges
BETH KERKE, Lebanon — Syriac Maronite Patriarch Mor Bechara Boutros al-Rai hosted Patriarch of the Assyrian Church of the East Mar Awa III Royel, along with a delegation, at the Patriarchal Residence in Beth Kerke (Bkerke), Lebanon. The delegation included Assyrian Church of the East Archbishop of Australia, New Zealand, and Lebanon Mar Milis Zayia, as well as other clergy members.
During their discussions, the patriarchs delved into various political and economic issues facing Lebanon, particularly the presidential vacancy and its implications for the nation. They also explored the current situation in Iraq and the challenges confronting Christians in the region. Furthermore, the dialogue touched upon fostering stronger ties between the two Churches.
Concluding the meeting, both parties exchanged tokens of appreciation, solidifying the bonds between their respective religious communities.
