Bethnahrin Women’s Union and European Syriac Union held a food festival in Switzerland
ZURICH, Switzerland — This year, the annual Syriac Food Festival was held Zurich, Switzerland.
During the Festival, the Bethnahrin Women’s Union (Huyodo d’Neshe d’Bethnahrin, HNB) and the European Syriac Union (ESU) delivered speeches about Syriac (Aramean-Chaldean-Assyrian) people history, origins of the Syriac traditional cuisine, Syriac language and culture.
The HNB and ESU officials touched on the situation of Syriac people in their homeland of Beth Nahrin (Mesopotamia), especially at this difficult stage and wars.
On 1 May every year, the Syriac Food Festival is held, during which various ethnic components and peoples participate.
By holding this Festival, institutions of the Bethnahrin Council (Mawtbo Umthoyo D’Bethnahrin, MUB) aim to introduce Syriac people and culture to other peoples and raise funds to support the Syriac people at homeland and diaspora.
