Orthodox Christians around the world celebrate Easter

Orthodox Christians around the world, including in the Syriac (Aramean–Assyrian–Chaldean) homeland of Beth Nahrin (Mesopotamia), flocked to churches to celebrate the Feast of Resurrection by holding Holy Liturgies.

In Zalin (Qamishli), Hasakah, and Dayrik (Malikiyha) in North and East Syria, prayers and Holy Liturgies were held in all churches of the Syriac (Aramean–Assyrian–Chaldean) people.

Prayers were offered for the hope of Syria’s resurrection and peace, as well as for the souls of the martyrs who sacrificed their lives in defense of their homeland.

Security during the prayers in all regions of the Gozarto (Jazira) Canton was ensured by the Syriac Security Forces (Sutoro) of North and East Syria.

In the historic region of Tur Abdin, in what is now southeastern Turkey, Holy Liturgies were also held, drawing a large crowd of Syriac (Aramean–Assyrian–Chaldean) people.

Easter celebrations were observed in the Holy Land of Jerusalem. Churches were filled with believers following the eastern calendar, alongside patriarchs, archbishops, priests, and worshippers.

In Sweden, Syriac Orthodox Archbishop of Sweden and Scandinavia Mor Yohanon Lahdo presided over the Mass at Mor Yacoub Cathedral in Södertälje.

In Germany, Syriac (Aramean–Assyrian–Chaldean) believers gathered in churches to celebrate the Feast of Resurrection.

Father Abrohom Bander, pastor of Mor Yacoub Church in Ticino, Switzerland, led the Divine Liturgy held at Upicasco Church in Bellinzona. The Mass was attended by a large congregation of Syriac people.

In Greppen, Switzerland, Syriac (Aramean–Assyrian–Chaldean) people celebrated the Divine Liturgy, followed by congregants exchanging congratulations in the church hall.
