Syriac folk band Kethoro joins Mosul University’s 57th anniversary celebrations
MOSUL, Iraq — Under the patronage of Mosul University President Dr. Qusay Kamal al-Din al-Ahmadi, Syriac folk band Kethoro participated in the 57th anniversary celebration of the university’s founding in Iraq.
The event took place at the university’s grand theater hall.
Kethoro showcased some of the traditional dances and songs of the Chaldean–Syriac–Assyrian people.
In addition to the performances by the band, the event featured poetry readings and art exhibitions, along with popular performances by university students representing the diverse ethnic communities of Nineveh Plains.
The festivities concluded with a display of fireworks and laser lights illuminating the skies of Mosul.
