Cultural seminar on Syriac people held in Qabre Hewore, North and East Syria
QABRE HEWORE, Syria — The Youth and Culture Center of the National Syrian Alliance held a cultural seminar, entitled “Syriac people during Syrian Revolution,” in Qabre Hewore (Qahtaniyha), North and East Syria.
The seminar was delivered by Co-Chair of the Syriac Union Party (SUP) in Syria Sanharib Barsom who spoke about the Syriac people and their role in Syria in general, as well as their struggle at all levels.
The ruling regimes annihilation against the ancient Syriac people was also touched on.
Barsom stressed that during the Syrian Revolution, the Syriac people returned to practice their national role, through the Democratic Autonomous Administration of the Region of North and East Syria, in solidarity of all ethnic components against the Turkish attacks supported, which wants to eliminate the ethnic components in the region.
Barsom reiterated that the Syriac people have a special identity, culture and a common history with the rest of the ethnic components/
“Syriac people will continue its struggle at all levels, “Barsom stated.
At the end of the seminar, the discussion was opened for interventions and questions.
