Bethnahrin National Council condemns Kurdish politicians’ verdict in Turkey
BETH NAHRIN — Bethnahrin National Council (Mawtbo Umthoyo D’Bethnahrin, MUB) issued a statement, in which it condemned the unjust trial of Co-Chairs of the Peoples’ Democratic Party (Halkların Demokratik Partisi, HDP) over the Kobani issue in 2014.
The MUB stated that Turkey continues its genocidal policy that has been supporting the Islamic State (ISIS) during the past years.
“The Turkish regime arrested the HDP Co-Chairs in Turkey, thereby curtailing democracy and freedom of peoples and enshrining its authoritarian policy. Today, after the Kurdish politicians’ verdict, the Turkish regime confirms its policy of cultural genocide against peoples,” read the MUB statement.
The MUB stated that the public opinion cannot expect any change from the Turkish regime mentality of peoples’ exclusion.
“We condemn this fascist trial and imprisonment for hundreds of years against Selahattin Demirtaş and Figen Yüksekdağ. We call on the international community to unite efforts and defend justice,” the MUB statement concluded.
