Official of Center for Syriac Strategic Studies Kino Gabriel highlights impotence of activating Syriac language in curricula
ZALIN, Syria — Official of the Center for Syriac Strategic Studies Kino Gabriel visited the Executive Council of the Democratic Autonomous Administration of the Region of North and East Syria (DAARNES).
Gabriel was received by DAARNES Executive Council Co-Chairs Avin Sweid and Hussein Othman and their deputies, as well as DAARNES Directorate Co-Chair Jwan Mulla Ibrahim.
The attendees discussed the development of strategic plans to support the Syriac language and its dissemination in North East Syria, since it is one of the official languages adopted in the DAARNES, along with Kurdish and Arabic.
They also discussed the administrative problems and obstacles facing the process of developing the Syriac language and activating it within the DAARNES curricula.
Proposals for developing the Syriac language and overcoming obstacles were also touched on to be further discussed in coming meetings.
