Syriac Orthodox Church in Baden, Switzerland, celebrates ordination of deacons and deaconesses

BADEN, Switzerland — The Syriac Orthodox Church in Baden, Switzerland, celebrated the ordination of deacons and deaconesses at Mor Abrohom Church.

The ordination Mass, held under the patronage of Archbishop Mor Dionysius Isa Gürbüz of the Syriac Orthodox Archdiocese in Switzerland and Austria, was led by Khuroyo Karim Asmar and Father Michel Aziz. The event saw a large turnout from the Syriac (Aramean–Assyrian–Chaldean) community.

During the Mass, 12 deacons and 15 deaconesses were ordained. Archbishop Gürbüz delivered a congratulatory speech, encouraging the newly ordained to strengthen their connection with the Church and to participate actively in religious lessons and Church events to bear spiritual fruits.

Following the Mass, the congregation gathered in the church hall for a joint dinner and to exchange congratulations.
