Alliance of Peoples and Women for Freedom introduce its electoral program in North and East Syria
ZALIN, HASAKAH, Syria — The campaigns for the Municipal Elections started in North and East Syria.
The Alliance of Peoples and Women for Freedom which includes 22 political parties, including the Syriac Union Party (SUP), held events in Zalin (Qamishli) and Hasakah to introduce its candidates and electoral program.
In Zalin (Qamishli), SUP Co-Chair Sanharib Barsom stressed the elections strategic importance to all ethnic components that have suffered for years from marginalization.
Barsoum called on everyone to participate in the elections.
After delivering other speeches, the Alliance’s candidates for the municipalities of the Gozarto (Jazira) Canton, numbering 66 candidates for 33 municipalities, were announced.
After that, th Yerthutha folklore Band of the Syriac Cultural Association presented its performance.
In Hasakah, the event began with a speech delivered by SUP Co-Chair and members of the Alliance Shamiram Danho.
The speeches were delivered in Syriac, Arabic and Kurdish, through which the plans and electoral list of the Alliance were announced.
