Deputy Co-Chair of Foreign Relations Department in North and East Syria Robel Bahho: Turkish threats are a blatant interference stemming from occupation mentality

ZALIN, Syria — The Democratic Autonomous Administration of the Region of North and East Syria (DAARNES) condemned the statements of Turkish regime officials about the DAARNES Municipal Elections which will be held on 11 June.

In comments to our news desk, Deputy Co-Chair of DAARNES Foreign Relations Department Rubel Bahho stated that the Turkish threats are a blatant interference that stems from occupation mentality towards Syria and confiscation of people will to choose their service administration.

Regarding the U.S. statements about the elections, Bahho hoped that the U.S. would not succumb to Turkish pressures, calling on the U.S. and its allies to speed up ending regional interventions in Syria in general and in North and East Syria in particular.

He also called on them to speed up finding a sustainable political solution in Syria that meets the aspirations and demands of all Syrians.

Bahho added that the DAARNES announced and voted on a new Social Contract.

“Municipal Elections are the simplest right of citizens to choose their representatives in municipalities,” Bahho declared, indicating that it is a democratic step that bothered the Turkish regime because it represents the people will.
