Syriac candidate of Alliance of Peoples and Women for Freedom Istifan Isho stresses confronting Turkish threats

ZALIN, Syria — In the wake of the constant Turkish threats against the Democratic Autonomous Administration of the Region of North and East Syria (DAARNES), especially after the Municipal Elections, thousands of residents of Zalin (Qamishli) came out in a demonstration rejecting Turkish officials threats against the DAARNES.

Among the demonstrators was Syriac candidate of Alliance of Peoples and Women for Freedom of the Zalin (Qamishli) Municipality Istifan Isho, who stated to our news desk that the Turkish threats seek to obstruct holding the elections, but the DAARNES will continue with its plan to hold elections.

Isho stressed that the DAARNES does not interfere in others affairs, unlike what the others do to break the peoples will.

“Peoples will cannot be broken. The faith of these peoples in their land will push them to hold elections on time,” he added, calling on the residents to participate in the elections to achieve democracy, despite the Turkish regime obstruction.

Earlier, president of the Turkish regime Recep Tayyip Erdogan and other Turkish officials had threatened to occupy new areas in North and East Syria, if the DAARNES held Municipal Elections, under the pretext that these elections threaten Turkish national security.
