Syriac Orthodox Church of Mor Yacoub d’Sarug to be consecrated in Göppingen, Germany
GÖPPINGEN, Germany — Syriac Orthodox Church of Mor Yacoub d’Sarug will be consecrated in Göppingen, Germany.
The church, which date back to 1989, will be consecrated and reopened on 9 June.
The church building was reportedly purchased from the Evangelical Church in 2014, by 250 Syriac Orthodox families.
After the church renovation, the Syriac Orthodox archdiocese of Germany, under the patronage of archbishop Mor Philoxenus Matthias Naish, called for attending the consecration Divine Liturgy on 9 June.
The priest Melki Tibier, who hails from Midin village in Tur Abdin in Turkey, was ordained to the Church of Mor Yacoub d’Sarug.
