Syriac youth from Syria, Iraq and Lebanon participate in Middle East and North Africa Youth Conference
BEIRUT — The Middle East and North Africa Youth Conference kicked off today in Beirut, Lebanon, with the participation of Syriac Progressive Youth Union in Syria and youth of the Bethnahrin Patriotic Union Party in Iraq (Huyodo Bethnahrin Athroyo, HBA), as well as Syriac youth from Lebanon.
The Co-Chair of Syriac Progressive Youth Union Sobhi Malki declared that the conference touched on the work of the Syriac youth and its role during the uprisings of the peoples.
“The first day included discussion of several topics, including issues of peoples rights and wars in the Middle East. During the second day, women’s freedom, freedom of peoples and other topics will be discussed, Malki stated.
The Official of the HBA Youth Relations Office stated that their participation is significant for the youth future because the conference addresses important issues related to youth identity, stressing the need to address these issues with the youth free will.
The Co-Chair of the HBA Youth Office Nisrin Hazem Behnam declared that the conference addresses the most important youth issues in the region.
