Institutions of Bethnahrin National Council in Zalin (Qamishli) and Hasakah in Syria to hold Sayfo commemoration
ZALIN, HASAKAH, Syria — The institutions of the Bethnahrin National Council (Mawtbo Umthoyo D’Bethnahrin, MUB) in Zalin (Qamishli) and Hasakah in Syria will hold on 14 June candlelight marches on the 109th anniversary of the 1915 Sayfo Genocide.
The Zalin (Qamishli) march, which will start from the headquarters of the Syriac Cultural Association, will include carrying candles and banners demanding the Sayfo Genocide recognition.
The Hasakah candlelight march will start from Nasira neighborhood with the participation of Syriac (Aramean-Chaldean-Assyrian) people, clerics and public figures of the city.
