Bethnahrin National Council celebrates 24th anniversary of its founding in Zalin, North and East Syria
ZALIN, Syria — The institutions of the Bethnahrin National Council (Mawtbo Umthoyo D’Bethnahrin, MUB) celebrated 24th anniversary of MUB founding.
The event was attended by members of the MUB political, military, youth, cultural and women’s institutions, as well as a crowd of Syriac (Aramean-Chaldean-Assyrian) people.
The event began with a minute of silence for souls of martyrs of Syriac people, after which Official of the Syriac Union Party (SUP) in Syria Elizabeth Gawrieh delivered a speech about political struggle in a revolutionary spirit, noting that the MUB establishment is a historical uprising against the genocidal attacks suffered by the Syriac people in the Middle East.
Gawrieh added that the MUB institutions are working to build a free future for the Syriac people to preserve their identity and continue resistance and struggle.
The event included musical and folklore performance by the bands of the Syriac Cultural Association, in addition to a documentary about the history of the MUB struggle.
