The Telegraph: Hezbollah storing weapons at Beirut International Airport, increasing risk of Israeli targeting
BEIRUT — In a recent report, British newspaper The Telegraph stated that Iranian-backed Hezbollah is storing weapons at Beirut International Airport, making it a major target for Israel in the event of war.
The newspaper highlighted that the stored weapons include short-range missiles and noted that large, mysterious boxes have arrived on flights from Iran.
The report also mentioned that Hezbollah senior leader Wafik Safa frequently appears at the airport’s customs office.
“Hezbollah has been using Beirut Airport for years to transport and store weapons, making it a target for Israel,” read the article.
Quoting airport employees, the newspaper stated that Hezbollah elements are preventing staff from inspecting boxes arriving from Iran.
