US State Department spokesman Matthew Miller: We will respond if our troops in Iraq attacked

WASHINGTON, D.C. — During a press conference, US State Department spokesman Matthew Miller stated that the US would respond appropriately if US forces in Iraq were attacked, specifically referencing Iranian backed Hezbollah in Lebanon and its allies in Iraq and Syria.

Miller noted that US forces are in Iraq at the invitation of the Iraqi government.

Regarding reports that Hamas is moving from Qatar to Iraq, Miller declared that after the horrific actions of Hamas on 7 October, the US announced that no country should deal with Hamas as before, and no country should provide a safe haven for it.
