Church of St. Peter and St. Paul in Ankawa, Kurdistan Region of Iraq, concludes summer activities with Divine Liturgy and celebrates graduates of Ur Institute
ANKAWA, Kurdistan Region of Iraq / BAGHDAD — The Chaldean Church of the Apostles St. Peter and St. Paul in Ankawa, Kurdistan Region of Iraq (KRI), hosted a Divine Liturgy to conclude the community’s summer activities.
The event was held under the auspices of the Central Christian Education Committee and was attended by Chaldean Archbishop of Erbil Bashar Matti Warda and his assistant, Father San Hikmet.
In his speech, Warda emphasized the importance of social media as a tool for dialogue, stressing the need to teach its careful and positive use. He also highlighted the significance of partnership, the goal and purpose of this activity, noting that every member of the Church contributes to its construction.
In related news, the first batch of students from the Ur Institute for Biblical Studies and Ancient Languages graduated at the Church of Mar Gorgis in Baghdad. The ceremony was attended by Chaldean Patriarch Mar Luis Rafael Sako, along with Chaldean archbishops, priests, nuns, and participating students from Iraq and abroad.
The graduation marked the completion of a four-year study program for 25 students. Patriarch Sako congratulated the graduates and distributed certificates to them.
