Syriac Catholic Patriarch consecrates Holy Spirit Church in Melbourne
MELBOURNE — Syriac Catholic Patriarch Ignatius Youssef III Younan consecrated the Syriac Catholic Church of the Holy Spirit in Melbourne, Australia. The ceremony was attended by archbishops, priests, deacons, monks, and nuns from the Syriac Catholic Church and various other churches in Melbourne, along with a large crowd of believers.
Government officials from Victoria, local officials in Melbourne, invited guests, and the committee responsible for the church project also attended the event.
The Patriarch led special prayers for the church’s consecration, assisted by several archbishops.
Speeches were delivered by civil officials, who commended this significant milestone and expressed their happiness with the Syriac Catholic Church as active members of the local community.
The Patriarch expressed deep joy about the church’s consecration and exited the church with a mass procession, amid great spiritual joy and loud applause from the attendees.
