Syrian Democratic Council celebrates 19 July Revolution Anniversary, calls for unified democratic Syria

NORTH AND EAST SYRIA — The Syrian Democratic Council (SDC) marked the 12th anniversary of the 19 July Revolution by congratulating the diverse peoples of northern and eastern Syria and calling for the construction of a unified, democratic Syria.

On this significant anniversary, the SDC praised the region’s people for exemplifying national cohesion in the face of extremism and terrorism. The Council highlighted the potential for building a cohesive society founded on the principles of equal citizenship and coexistence.

In a statement, the SDC emphasized that the Democratic Autonomous Administration of the Region of North and East Syria (DAARNES) has developed a unique governance model. This model has solidified the values of coexistence and civil peace and demonstrated that women’s participation and youth empowerment are vital to societal development.

Reflecting on this important anniversary, the SDC honored the sacrifices of martyrs and the wounded, reaffirming its commitment to the principles of the Syrian Revolution and the 19 July Revolution. The Council stressed the importance of maintaining Syria’s unity, strengthening democracy, promoting pluralism and decentralization, and continuing to work towards the Syrian people’s aspirations for freedom, dignity, and social justice.

The SDC urged all components of Syrian society to contribute to building a national democratic project that ensures a better future within a unified Syrian state. Additionally, the council called on the international community to actively support stability in Syria, combat extremism, and create conducive conditions for a political solution that aligns with the Syrian people’s aspirations and guarantees a safe and prosperous future for all.
