Syrian Democratic Council Mahmoud al-Muslat: Co-Chair North and East Syria is an important region in the area

NORTH AND EAST SYRIA — The rapprochement between the Syrian and Turkish regimes is rejected in most regions.

If rapprochement happens, it will only be at the expense of the Syrian people.

The Syrian Democratic Council (SDC) has warned more than once of the danger of this rapprochement for the Syrian people, who revolted against the regime 13 years ago.

Mahmoud al-Muslat, SDC Co-Chair confirmed to our news desk that North and East Syria is an important region in the area, stressing that there will be no peace process without the participation of the Democratic Autonomous Administration of the Region of North and East Syria (DAARNES).

He added that they believe in dialogue, extend their hand to everyone and communicate with everyone.

He called on the countries that sponsor the rapprochement that this rapprochement should not be at the expense of North and East Syria.

He pointed out that they will not stand idly by, and that they have major allies who will stand with them, stressing that they have strategies in the next stage on how to defend the land and the people.

The president of the Turkish regime Recep Tayyip Erdogan had extended an invitation to his Syrian counterpart Bashar al-Assad to visit Turkey, or choose a third country to meet him, in order to establish peace in Syria, but that invitation was rejected by Assad, who stressed that there will be no rapprochement only after the withdrawal of Turkish forces from all occupied Syrian territories.
