Residents of Dayrik, North and East Syria, condemn Turkish attacks and KDP collaboration in Kurdistan Region of Iraq

DAYRIK, North and East Syria — During a public protest, the residents of Dayrik (Derik), North and East Syria, condemned the Turkish military’s attacks on regions within the Kurdistan Region of Iraq (KRI) and criticized the Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP) for its cooperation with Turkey.

Joan Hassan, a citizen of Dayrik, stated that the Turkish army continues its aggressive plans in collusion with the KDP, targeting the Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) to undermine their resolve. He also praised the PKK’s steadfast resistance against the Turkish occupation.

Muhammad Abdel Aziz, a member of the Union of Intellectuals in Dayrik, emphasized that the resistance of the PKK is a legacy that will be passed down through generations. He pointed out that their struggle against Turkish occupation represents the dawn of freedom for the Kurdish cause, which has long been marginalized and oppressed.

Citizen Muhammad Ramadan expressed his outrage over the KDP’s betrayal, accusing it of colluding with Turkey to attack the Kurdish people and wage war against the PKK, especially in the KRI.

Magda Ahmed added that Turkey’s plan to wage war on the PKK and occupy areas in KRI is not new. She attributed the persistence of these attacks to the KDP’s ongoing collusion with Turkey.
