Syriac Catholic Patriarch Younan urges patience and peace during Mass in New Zealand

AUCKLAND — Syriac Catholic Patriarch Mar Ignatius Youssef III Younan, held a Divine Mass at St. Thomas More Church in Auckland, New Zealand, where he met with numerous Christians displaced from their home countries.

During the service, the Patriarch emphasized the need for patience among Christians displaced from Syria, Iraq, Egypt, Lebanon, and Turkey. He urged them to spread love and peace through their acceptance of one another, not just in words but also in actions.

Patriarch Younan also presided over the Divine Liturgy at the Chaldean Church of Mar Addi in Auckland. In his sermon, he highlighted the hardships faced by Christian communities who were forced to emigrate from their native lands due to terrorism, violence, and other adverse circumstances. He acknowledged their move to New Zealand as a pursuit of freedom and safety.
